Ubisoft’s upcoming title, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla once again saw a big blow this week. Ubisoft had received a blow previously after their upcoming title gameplay was leaked ahead of its release. This is the second time gameplay footage has made its way to the internet. It’s a massive full 30 minutes of gameplay.
The leaked footage made its way to the web through Reddit. The footage showcases everything from mystical boss fights, in-game weapons, the landscapes to even a glimpse of the map. What’s intriguing about the leak, though, are the mystical powers of the boss.
What Do We Saw In the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Leaked Gameplay Footage:
The footage shows the central character, Cordelia, as more of a mystical warrior, with the arena being lit with numerous magical themed animations. She possesses several magical powers such as teleporting, lightning strikes, and ghost summoning. If you concentrate and listen closely enough, you can figure out the conversation, with Cordelia being referred to as the “demon goddess“, who is seen wearing a skull and has arrows as well.
Cordelia is much more than just a duelist. She blocks, grapples, and thrusts when up close, making her a harmonious enemy to fight. Her animations look moderately refined in this fight, though occasional animations do seem like potential placeholders.
Apart from the mystical powers, some other bits of information was also spotted in the Reddit leak. We could see the side quest system for each map with ‘Wealth’ and ‘Secrets’ to discover. Apart from that, Evior could be noticed with three bars at the bottom left corner indicating the adrenaline, health and stamina levels. The characters can eat mushrooms to increase their ability gauge, during the fight.
If we take a look at the inventory, then the interface somewhat looks like Assassins Creed Odyssey. In addition to the inventory interface, the Hunter, Warrior and Assassin styles from Odyssey have been changed to Raven, Bear and Wolf.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Trailer:
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is scheduled to release later this year and will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Stadia and PC. You can find the intriguing trailer released two months backs above.
Latest Updates In The Leaked Footage:
The most intriguing new update is the abilities screen that indicates Evior to unlock new skills using Books of Knowledge. These skills can be located in guarded monasteries and enemy camps. You can also assign up to 8 abilities at a time. The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay leak showcased that each class will suit particular playstyles, until then we’ll just have to wait until Ubisoft officially lifts the veil.
We all saw a notably marked “work in progress” stamp in the corner of the screen. This means that the developers definitely didn’t intend to publicly release the footage since the game was work in progress. Although in spite of the leak the game appears to be coming together rather well at this point.
Leaks are always disappointing, although the public definitely enjoys them, it ruins the hard work and the thunder for the developer.
Hopefully, the Ubisoft Forward event will boast plenty of elements that win us over on Valhalla. The game developer could certainly use a win after the multiple scandals that have rocked the company recently.
