Are you ready for some Letterman humour? If not then get ready for the entertaining and humorous Netflix original series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. After releasing the trailer yesterday (6 October), the show will officially stream on October 21, 2020 which happens to be Kim’s birthday too. David Letterman has always drawn massive attention from his audience with his quick wit and gap toothed smile.
Kim Kardashian West
The third season will showcase four episodes starring the social butterfly and American media personality Kim Kardashian West in one segment. In the trailer, we catch Kim slightly sobbing. David couldn’t have said anything that will make Kim cry, could he? But, when it comes to her let’s not make any comments.
In another one, the great comedy artist Dave Chappelle will win tons of hearts again with his jolly nature. There is this deep talk between both the Daves (Dave Chappelle and David Letterman). Chappelle expresses his thoughts over the Floyd incident. He also tells Letterman that he doesn’t like to give interviews. If it weren’t for Letterman then he wouldn’t have opened up that much. At the end of the trailer, Chappelle asks, “You smoke weed, Dave?” To which Letterman replies, “Yes. I’m high as a kite now.” They both set the fun mood completely.
Robert Downey Jr.
Consequently, we get to watch yours and mine personal favorite Robert Downey Jr. They visit the Ironman’s Malibu estate where they chat with the goats. Robert always impresses us with his interesting way of answering.
Finally, we see the versatile singer Lizzo at her studio with David. They delve into the topic of body shaming and how Lizzo dealt with it, confidently.
The way David approaches the topics of the guests is fantastic. In the last two seasons, it has been pretty interesting too. Both the seasons welcomed former President Barack Obama, Melinda Gates, Malala Yousafzai and many others. The 44th American President and David were in a civil and candid conversation which seems so much meaningful.
Letterman doesn’t settle for humor but also holds insight firm. He shapes his questions so that they don’t offend the interviewee. They share their opinions and the untold truths about them. The good they bring out in the world and how they see things.
There is plentiful of humor included to keep the show engaging. However, in the previous two seasons, some guests have tried to dodge the questions not-so-subtly which was a mood breaker.
This late-night comedy show is over all a good one to watch. David Letterman almost never fails to earn a laugh from his audience. His face clad in his cloudlike beard and Harry Potter glasses gives a homely feel.
Let’s not predict anything and wait for the show to come out. Well, they have Robert Downey Jr. and Dave Chappell. That seems like a pretty good reason to watch.
