Hennessey Tests Corvette Z06 HPE850 Upgrades At The Track

Chevrolet Corvette C8, the eighth generation in the Chevrolet Corvette family is already out on the roads. The first production running was efficient delivering smooth-running. However, we cannot underestimate the C7 Corvette as well. The  Z06 and ZR1 versions are doing exceptionally well. Moreover, the C7 is still being upgraded with more options than ever.  For example, Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering offers several packages for the C7-generation Corvette Z06, including the HPE850 Upgrade.

More Power to Z06 with HPE850

With HPE 850, the Corvette Z06’s 6.2-liter V8 engine is escalated to another level. Hennessey’s supercharger package lets a Z06 run from zero to 60mph in 2.6 seconds and accomplishes the maximum speed of 205mph. Generally, Z06’s 6.2-liter V8 mill can deliver 650 hp of max output and 650 lb.-ft. of peak torque.

HPE850 and HPE 1000, two supercharger packages were developed by Hennessey for the Corvette Z06. Clearly, HPE850 delivers an output up to 850HP, while the HPE1000 boosts it to 1000HP. But, as of now it is all immersed to bring out a package for C8 Corvette.

The 850 Horse Power Upgrade For Corvette Z06 HPE850

In the video, we can observe that the shining black Corvette Z06 is embedded with the HPE850 engine upgrade. Clearly, the output is boosted to a maximum of 850 horsepower at 6,300 rpm. Apart from that this upgrade also raises the peak torque to 715 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,300 rpm. This LT4 supercharged 6.2L V8 engine is available for the 2015-2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Moreover, it is compatible with both the factory automatic and manual transmissions.

According to Hennessey, the HPE850 upgrade entails the installation of upgraded components including valve springs, intake, and exhaust valves. Also installed were long-tube stainless steel headers, a high-flow air induction system, and a heat exchanger. Stainless steel mid-pipes, high-flow catalytic converters, and custom Hennessey camshaft were also fitted.

It races like a beast jumping right from zero to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds. Also, its wondering ability to reach a quarter-mile in just 10.3 seconds at 136mph is jaw-dropping. The melodies of  HPE850 Z06’s engine cannot be skipped.
