It is quarantine time and all sorts of streaming services are literally our saviors at such times! And one of the biggest contributors to this entertainment savior squad this year is Hulu, among others.
Hulu although not as popular as Netflix of Amazon prime, its larger counterparts, it is now on an accelerating its journey upwards.
Let us look at what the Hulu has in store for us this September. And mind you Hulu is making some changes to its selection of films and television series this September.
Presenting, Hulu’s September release 2020!
The fourth season of FX’s Fargo makes its way to the streamer, following Chris Rock as Loy Cannon. He is the head of an African American crime family who trades sons with the head of the Italian mafia as part of a tenuous truce. This short synopsis itself has gotten me intrigued. A definite must-watch!
Judy on Hulu this September
Renee Zellweger’s Oscar-winning performance of Judy Garland in Judy (a 2019 production) also arrives on Hulu in September.
The film follows Judy Garland’s career during the last year of her life when she relocated her stage career to Britain. It is coupled with flashbacks to her teenage years. Most prominently, the filming of her part as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz, Garland’s most iconic role. After some initial success for a run of sell-out concerts at the Talk of the Town in London, her efforts eventually stop making progress and even start to worsen due to health issues. Real-life stories made into movies are one of my favorites! Cannot wait to watch this one!
Keith Knight and Marshall Todd’s comedy series Woke hits Hulu this month. Knight’s life inspires this series. The show follows Keef, an African-American cartoonist who is finally on the verge of mainstream success when an incident occurs that changes everything.
Hell On The Border
This 2019 film had come on Hulu on September 2. It follows Former slave Bass Reeves who becomes the first black deputy United States Marshal west of the Mississippi River in the late 1800s. He hunts deadly outlaw Frank Dozier.
Middle School The Worst Years of My Life on Hulu
Rafe Khatchadorian (Griffin Gluck) has an epic imagination and a slight problem with authority. These things collide when he transfers to a middle school where students are expected to follow the rules. This doesn’t sit well with Rafe. With help from his new friend Leo (Thomas Barbusca), the mischievous boy concocts schemes to drive his principal (Andy Daly) crazy while also using his charm and wits to impress a girl (Isabela Moner) and battle the bullies.
Other films headed to the streaming platform this month include the entire Twilight franchise, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s action-packed sci-fi film The Terminator, Tom Cruise’s high-flying Top Gun, and the Robin Williams comedy The Birdcage.
On the TV side, Hulu subscribers can check out the second season of Hulu original Pen15, the 11th season of Bob’s Burgers and the series premiere of Fox’s Filthy Rich.
So, yes, Hulu has some pretty exciting releases this September! Be sure to check them out!
