DNC 2020 Performances- A timeline of all performances ranging from Billie Eilish, John Legend and more

The 2020 Democratic National Convention (DNC 2020) is shaping up to be the most creative, innovative, and engaging performances in history. It will feature musical performances from some of the most popular artists in the nation, according to the convention organizers. The performer’s line-up will include popular leaders, rising stars, and inspiring Americans as the Democrats design a program to unite the country behind Joe Biden’s vision for a better America for all.

The convention kick-started on 17th August 2020 and will continue till 20th August 2020.

Below is a list of all the amazing performances that happened during the last three days at the DNC 2020.

Monday, 17th August

The first night of the DNC 2020 had amazing performances, though it kicked off with the new Joe Biden advertisement. It featured Bruce Springsteen’s hit The Rising from the year 2002. The advertisement featured pictures of healthcare workers, empty streets, and people in masks amid the ongoing pandemic.

This was followed by Leon Bridge performance on his song Sweeter with Terrace Martin. It was followed by Maggie Rogers who performed on Back in My Body in a video on the coast of Maine. Billy Porter and Stephen Hills then performed on For What It’s Worth in a throwback style music video.

Tuesday, 18th August

The second day of the DNC 2020 saw many performances the first one being John Legend’s song from his new album Bigger Love. John played Never Break on an empty and dark stage on a black piano. As the song progressed, background singers joined him on stage until the stage was practically filled with support.

Wednesday, 19th August

Billie Eilish requested people to vote before her performance on ‘My Future’ this Wednesday night. She said that silence is not an option and we cannot sit this one out.

Jennifer Hudson then performed on a classic song by Sam Cooke, A Change is Gonna Come. She performed it from the Chicago Cultural Center. The tune was an anthem for the Civil Rights Movement, hence the song was fitting. In 2008 speech of Barrack Obama he even referred to the famous lyrics of the song, It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, change has come to America. Also, Bettye LaVette and Jon Bon Jovi performed the ballad as a duet during Obama’s inauguration.

Moreover, Jennifer Hudson had also previously performed at the convention in 2008, singing the national anthem.

How to Watch the DNC 2020 Speeches and Performances, Getting Involved!

The DNC 2020 has kick started on the 17th of August and today, 20th of August will be the last day of the four-day convention. The program will air from 9 to 11 pm EST.

The organizers had done a tremendous job by providing a dozen options to watch the program. They ensured that this year’s convention will reach viewers from all across the nation no matter where they are. They can watch the convention however they want.
