Every Fan out there is waiting for season 10 of one of the most popular show on BBC One, ‘Call the Midwife‘. The show which started back in 2012 is ruling the hearts with high ratings and it’s gripping storyline.
The series is about the nurse-midwives who are working in the East End London in the 1950s and 60s.
The show illustrates the everyday chores of the midwives and the population in the neighbourhood of Poplar.
The series deals with issues related to poverty, child migrants programme, contraception, abortion etc. It’s actually a show which attracts people from the Medical field a lot.
This series is based on the book by Jennifer Worth. It has provided the broadcaster a huge success continually.
Plot of the Show
As the world is in a lockdown, and the show hasn’t been shot yet, so it’s tough to presume about the plot but the fans can expect more of the same from the show.
Showrunner Heidi Thomas has disclosed the location of the Christmas special.
“We are staying in Poplar,” Thomas told Radio Times.
“We are not going anywhere cold, we are not going anywhere wet, we’re not going anywhere far away. It’s very much Poplar-based,” she explained.
“And there will be snow and there will be tinsel and there will be trees and there will be Christmas dinner at Nonnatus House. And beyond that it’s a secret!”
We are expecting the storyline to remain relevant, something that the audience can perceive easily.
Unless the writers don’t annihilate any prominent characters, the cast is likely to remain the same.
Therefore, veteran star Jenny Agutter(Sister Julienne), Judy Parfitt (Sister Monica Joan), Helen George (Beatrix “Trixie” Franklin) and Laura Main (Sister Bernadette).
Further stars likely to be back are Stephen McGann (Patrick Turner), Cliff Parisi (Frederick “Fred” Buckle) and Vanessa Redgrave (Voice of Jennifer Worth).
Other cast members likely to be seen are Linda Bassett (Phyllis Crane), Annabelle Apsion (Violet Buckle), Jennifer Kirby (Valerie Dyer), Leonie Elliott (Lucille Anderson), Fenella Woolgar (Sister Hilda), and Ella Bruccoleri (Sister Frances).
The show is likely to see more new guest cast members as each episode of the show deals with new patients that come and go through the doors of Nonnatus House.
The earlier seasons of the ‘Call the Midwife’ have been aired around January. This pattern generally depicts that the fans can expect the season around January 2021.
The official release date hasn’t been revealed yet and nowadays the shooting in also delayed which is only going to delay the release.
Just like the previous series, each of them consisted of 8 episodes per season so it is unlikely any chance that season 10 will be any different.
Season nine was set in the year 1965, so it’s most likely that next season will be set in the year after.
All over the world, the fans are expecting the new seasons of their favourite shows but all they can do now is just sit back and keep biting their nails in excitement and while the suspense of the new season is on the verge.
