The song “How You Like That” is the second song dropped by BLACKPINK this year. They released a collaboration with Lady Gaga in May, titled “Sour Candy”. Consequently, the song topped at No. 33 on the Billboard Top 100 chart.

“How You Like That” is a hip-hop number with a variety of flavors. It features members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa at their very best. It starts off with mellow vocals and then hits the listener with heavy beat drops, ad-libs and a rap hook. Therefore, it truly offers something for fans of every genre. Although K-Pop fans don’t really need a reason to tune into BLACKPINK!

Moreover, the song features truly impressive dance moves in the backdrop of slick and beautiful visuals. Therefore, it is an ideal mix of style and suave. As it is as much a visual treat as it an audio one, the success of this song was highly predictable. However, breaking the YouTube premier record is still something that not many would have envisioned. This is just another reminder of the rabid loyalty and following of K-Pop fans. Also, BLACKPINK has been a favorite in the K-Pop genre for as long as one can remember. Therefore, one can expect many more records to tumble as BLACKPINK will probably be releasing a third song this year.

What’s next for BLACKPINK?

BLACKPINK is riding the wave of success right now. The measure of their success is such that the names of the members of the group were trending worldwide leading up to the song release.

After the release, the group started a fan-centric Twitter account. Within a few hours of the account being opened (@BLACKPINK), the account already has more than 500k followers and counting. Therefore, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that some Twitter records might also be in danger.

Moreover, BLACKPINK will be going truly global soon. On July 26, the group will perform in The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Although the group really needs no introduction, it will still provide them with exposure to an even bigger audience. With regards to any plans for a new single after “How You Like That”, it is expected that the group will release their third single this year before September. This is because the release of their first full-length album is scheduled for September.

Overall, the next few months figure to be a real treat for K-Pop fans, even more so for BLACKPINK fans as the group will not only release multiple songs along with an album, their art will also get displayed on an even bigger stage with performances scheduled in many countries. It surely is a good time to be a BLACKPINK fan!
