This will provide them a platform to discuss their journey on DWTS as partners in dance together. Not only that, get ready to receive more closeups on their love life, ups and downs that they have recently faced, friends, enemies, and even frenemies. They are even going to talk about mental health, one of the hot topics in recent times.

Mclean and Burke have been friends for over twenty years since they first met in Germany. By launching this podcast, McLean and Burke wish to talk about their lives outside of the spotlight and media. So, prepare yourself for this extremely intimate look into the duo’s life.

Elizondo Jr. is a Mexican singer, dancer, and songwriter. He is also McLean’s long time friend and life coach. Over the years, he collaborated with his wife Janet Jackson to write for over 37 songs for three albums.

The idea of starting a podcast called Pretty Messed Up originated after one zoom call one summer this year. The idea of it was to show their fans what life for these stars is actually about.

To know what is really behind the glitz and glam that we get to see on TV, Burke told people of the podcast.

What the stars have to say regarding the Podcast

“With this podcast, it’s going to be so nice to just be who I am. I’m sure fans have definitely seen a little bit of this, a little bit of that or maybe read my book … but now you’re really going to see me,” she spoke. “What you see is what you get with me. Whether you like it or not, that’s who I am. I’m like an open book. I cannot lie. I cannot not talk.”

McLean followed Burke on this saying that,

“A lot has been said about me and my journey through recovery and sobriety, my ups and downs, my highs and lows, but there’s still so much left that not a lot of people know about. I’ve compared myself to an onion — there are a lot more layers to me than anyone really knows about.”

“My goal is, if I can help another person out there or inspire to help them feel comfortable to be themselves and to be raw, real and exposed, then I’ve done my job. You’re going to hear from me, pretty much me walking around in my birthday suit level of honesty,”

Elizondo too hopes to inspire his listeners through this upcoming podcast as he quotes,

“We’re born very pure and uncomplicated and somewhere through life we become complicated, and if we’re lucky enough we learn to uncomplicate ourselves again,”

“My journey, and I know AJ’s journey coincide where we really hit the skids emotionally, mentally, physically and have learned to get back on track and not over complicate life. Doing this podcast is being able to share our experience, strength and hope that others may be going through some of the same tough times and be inspired”.

Although on the podcast by AJ McLean and Cheryl Burke, the former has decided to open up more about his personal life, he has already been doing so for a long time. The former boy band member has been open about his struggles regarding addiction since 2018. He also revealed to ‘PEOPLE’ how he stays on track regarding his sobriety.

This project is also one of Burke’s first after she married her boyfriend Matthew Lawrence the previous year. They tied the knot at the Fairmont Grand del Mar in San Diego, California.
